IHT mainly works with Village Councils, Ward Councils and Local Government. These community-led organizations enable the community to join together in dialogue to support positive change; participating in planning, decision-making and evaluation at the community, village or ward level. Formation of Self-Help Groups, Savings Groups, and Village Committee’s are also used as methods to mobilize communities and encourage their participation.

“We are inspired by the universal values and teachings of the Qur’an and the prophetic example (Sunnah).”
Through empowerment, people are able to make a difference in their lives and the society they live in.
We must be open in our work and share information with people we serve.
Each person has the right to live and be treated with dignity and integrity.
By understanding the needs of different people, we are able to provide the best services they require.
We believe the protection and well-being of every life is of paramount importance and we shall join with other humanitarian actors to act as one in responding to suffering brought on by disasters, poverty and injustice.
We are accountable to people that we assist and God, for our actions.
